A few months ago, we were contacted by a wonderful reporter for Chesapeake Family Magazine, Meagan Howell. Meagan was writing an article on infant mortality and wanted to interview Jaime about Molly’s story as well as Molly’s Mission. Today is National Prematurity Awareness Day! Each year 1 in 8 babies in the US are born too soon. These babies have such a difficult start in life, that is the ones who survive. In honor of National Prematurity Awareness Day we’re kicking off our Holiday Raffle. There are multiple prizes which means multiple winners! We’ll also have a few prizes to give away randomly throughout the raffle, so get your tickets early!

NICU on Discovery Health

Farmers Insurance has partnered with Discovery Health Channel and the March of Dimes to present “NICU,” a new television series that follows the experiences of babies fighting for their lives in a newborn intensive care unit. This 10-episode docu-drama series goes behind the scenes of top national neonatal intensive care (NICU) units, showing the day-to-day care required to sustain the smallest of lives. NICU follows real families as they experience the rollercoaster of emotions that come with having a premature baby and features doctors and nurses from leading hospitals in Baltimore, San Diego and Cleveland, as they work around the clock to ensure the survival of their tiny patients.

“NICU” premieres at 10 p.m. (ET/PT) Thursday, July 15, on Discovery Health Channel. The series follows real families as they experience the roller coaster of emotions that come with having a baby born too soon or with other complications. The series is being presented in partnership with the March of Dimes, whose mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. During the broadcast, viewers can use their mobile devices to text the word “hero” to 20222 to donate $5 to the March of Dimes.
